Our History

Steelmakers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Limited operates a mini-steel plant with the manufacture of industrial gases and foundry support divisions. Our core business at the Redcliff operations is the manufacture of quality hot roll steel products at affordable prices for both the domestic and regional markets in the engineering, mining and agriculture sectors of the economy.

Background

STEELMAKERS Zimbabwe (Pvt) Limited belongs to a group of companies with over 30 years experience in quality steel manufacture in Africa.Other Steelmakers operations in Africa are in Kenya, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

STEELMAKERS Zimbabwe is based in Redcliff, but since it began operations in 1998, it has expanded to a giant self-reliant steel manufacturing company, demonstrating a high growth rate in the process. Since 1998, the following projects were successfully commissioned;

i)Rolling Mills Unit I (January, 1998)

v)Oxygen Manufacturing plant (April, 1999)

vi)Sponge Iron project in Masvingo

vii)Kadoma Forging Division (September 2005)

STEELMAKERS Zimbabwe has managed to satisfy customer demands with good product quality, ready supplies and competitive prices. A workforce of over 1,400 skilled workers including experienced engineers, enable us to achieve our production target efficiently and timely.
